Working With Institutional Clients
We've worked the exteriors of some of Vancouver's highest-profile institutional sites, including BC Children's Hospital, and as part of the maintenance subcontractor crew on the Robson Square complex. We also take on schools and post-secondary campuses to the same standard — it's a newer part of our book, but the work doesn't change.
This tier of work has one hard constraint: the building is occupied year-round, and the work has to fit around actual operating hours, patient and public access, or term dates and events rather than a generic slow season.
The second constraint is procurement. Facilities managers need a quote they can put through a process, proof of WorkSafe standing and insurance before anyone sets foot on site, and a record of what was done for the maintenance file.
The third is scrutiny. Working at height around patients, the public or staff, on a site with security and access protocols of its own, is watched more closely than a residential job — as it should be.
