Sealed Right, Not Sealed Over Dirt
Concrete, pavers and natural stone are porous, so oil, rust, leaf tannin and wine soak in rather than sit on top — which is why a stain on unsealed concrete is often permanent, and a stain on sealed concrete can usually be cleaned off. Sealing also slows the freeze-thaw cycle that expands trapped water in the pores and eventually spalls the surface apart.
Sealing only works on a clean, dry surface. Going over dirt, moss or an existing stain locks it in, and sealing over damp concrete traps moisture underneath — so this is two visits: a full wash and stain treatment first, proper dry time, then the sealer.
We show you both a penetrating sealer, which leaves the surface looking essentially unchanged, and a wet-look topical finish on the actual surface before you choose. Paver joints are topped up and stabilised as part of the same visit, and the sealer is applied evenly at the manufacturer's coverage rate with landscaping protected.
