About the Role

General Labourer / Technician

Position Overview:

​

As the Team Leader at Flat Mate Property Services, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the execution of various outdoor cleaning and restoration projects. Your responsibilities will extend beyond labour tasks, encompassing leadership, supervision, and management, all while contributing to the company's commitment to delivering top-quality results. You will be responsible for leading a team of technicians, driving the company vehicle, and ensuring the successful completion of projects in a timely and efficient manner.

 

Responsibilities:

​

  • Lead and manage a team of technicians, providing guidance, support, and direction.

  • Coordinate daily work assignments, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and to the highest standards.

  • Drive the company vehicle to project sites, transporting equipment and team members as required.

  • Conduct on-site training for new team members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.

  • Oversee the setup and operation of equipment, including pressure washers, cleaning tools, and related machinery.

  • Monitor the progress of projects, addressing any challenges or issues that arise promptly.

  • Maintain effective communication with clients, addressing questions, concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with management to optimize project scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.

  • Monitor inventory levels of equipment, cleaning supplies, and materials and submit timely orders as needed.

  • Uphold a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and camaraderie among team members.

  • Assist in the performance of labour tasks when necessary to meet project demands.

  • Provide regular performance feedback to team members, identifying areas for improvement and growth.

Qualifications:

​

  • Previous experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role, preferably in a labour-intensive industry.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage projects and resources.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with team members and clients.

  • Familiarity with exterior cleaning equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles.

  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform labor tasks when required.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.

  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Technical skills related to property maintenance and cleaning are advantageous.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality results.

  • Leadership training or certifications are a plus.
